* The Global Accounting Alliance (GAA) was formed in November 2005 and serves as a forum for 10 of the world's leading professional accountancy bodies whose members practice in major capital markets. Its purpose is to serve the public interest by leading the advancement of a high-quality accounting profession by sharing information and collaborating, among GAA Members, and advocating on international issues important to the profession.

Takashi Nagaoka serves as Chair of IFIAR (International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators) since April 2023, after serving as its Vice Chair for two years, and Chair of IFRS Foundation Monitoring Board since March 2023. He has also played important roles in the field of international securities market regulations, including Chair of International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) Asia Pacific Regional Committee.

In this session, we will highlight one of the top challenges: Attracting accounting professions in audit and assurance. Insights from young professions on challenges and opportunities working in audit and assurance are shared through survey results. Based on the results, panelists will discuss what more can be done to attract qualified young talents. What are their true concerns? Do we have a perception gap? Are young auditors ready to meet the needs of the capital market?
