Synopsis:
Women are scaling new heights and have proven both locally and on the global stage that they can be effective and powerful leaders. In fact, women leadership has become more prominent across the political, social and economic spectrum, and their effective participation is now crucial in achieving sustainable development for the future. In tandem with the theme of the International Women's Day, the "Women Leadership for a sustainable tomorrow" webinar explores the role and value proposition of women leadership in the accountancy profession towards the achievement of a sustainable future.
To set the context, a representative from Chartered Accountants Worldwide, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion taskforce, will share a report on Mid-Career Women Chartered Accountants with the following three areas of focus:
(a) Understand lived experiences of the chartered accountancy career;
(b) Explore the barriers to career progression; and
(c) Identify and understand the solutions to break down barriers to career progression.
The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion between professionals from the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA), the Japanese Institute of Certified Public Accountants (JICPA), the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants (KICPA), and the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), moderated by Ms Gladeys Jill A. Santos from IFAC, to discuss and share valuable experiences, challenges, advice and aspirations relating to women leadership in the profession.
