JICPA co-sponsored symposium,"Facing the growing need for IFRS application"was successful

On July 17, 2014, JICPA co-sponsored a symposium to discuss the future of corporate reporting, entitled “Facing the growing need for IFRS application.”

 

A keynote speech was delivered by Mr. Yuichi Ikeda of the Financial Service Agency (FSA), followed by a panel discussion, featuring Mr. Masayoshi Yoshino, a member of the House of Representatives and a chair of business accounting subcommittee of Liberal Democratic Party; Mr. Atsushi Saito, Director & Representative Executive Officer, Group CEO of the Japan Exchange Group, Inc.; Mr. Noriaki Shimazaki, Advisor of IFRS Foundation Asia-Oceania Office; Mr. Tsuguoki(Aki) Fujinuma, Advisor of JICPA and Professor of Chuo University Business School; and Mr. Kimitaka Mori, Chairman and President of JICPA.

 

The panel discussion covered topics related to IFRS application in Japan, including initiatives taken so far for the application, advantages and disadvantages and the future of IFRS application in Japan.
