JICPA New Executives Start Up

The new executives of JICPA, under Mr. Koichi Masuda, the new chairman and president, took office after the end of the 41st general assembly which was held on July 4, 2007. They will hold office until the end of the general assembly in 2010.
Mr. Koichi Ohno (professor of the faculty of economics and immediate past president of Kanto Gakuin University) and Mr. Sadao Yoshino (former representative director and senior managing director of the Tokyo Stock Exchange), as experts who are not members of JICPA, were appointed as members of the council at the council meeting held on June 22, 2007, in accordance with Article 88(2) of the revised JICPA constitution. This is the first time for non-CPAs to join the council and is part of the initiative to reform governance of JICPA.
The 15th JICPA - KICPA Annual Conference

The 15th JICPA - KICPA Annual Conference was held in Seoul at the head office of KICPA on June 18, 2007. Five delegates from JICPA attended. These were Mr. Fujinuma, then chairman and president, Mr. Masuda, then deputy president, Mr. Yamazaki, the deputy president, and Mr. Ikegami, who is on the executive board, and a person from the secretariat. Six people from KICPA, including Mr. Tae-Sik Suh, the president of KICPA, attended the conference. They exchanged views on developments in accounting and auditing in each country.
