FSA publishes draft "Audit Firm Governance Code"

On December 15, 2016, Financial Services Agency (FSA) issued the draft “Principles for Effective Management of Audit Firms” (the Audit Firm Governance Code) which was developed by the “Council of Experts on Audit Firm Governance Code.” Comments are requested by January 31, 2017.

FSA launches the "Japan Network for the IFIAR"

In preparation for the scheduled establishment of a permanent secretariat of the International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators (IFIAR) in Tokyo on April 2017, Financial Services Agency launched the “Japan Network for the IFIAR.” The network consists of various stakeholders who engage in auditing. JICPA is one of the key members of the network supporting the activities of the IFIAR Secretariat in Japan and thereby contributing to global enhancement of audit quality.
