CPA examination results for 2013

The Certified Public Accountants and Auditing Oversight Board (CPAAOB) released, on November 15, 2013, the list of applicants who passed the CPA examination in 2013. Out of 13,224 applicants, 1,178 candidates passed all subjects, with the examination pass rate of 8.9%.

New Index "JPX-Nikkei Index 400" to be launched in 2014

The Japan Exchange Group Inc., Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. and Nikkei Inc. announced on November 6, 2013, that a new index "JPX-Nikkei Index 400", which takes into account the adoption or scheduled adoption of IFRS (assumed to be pure IFRS) as one of its qualitative factors for scoring, will be launched in 2014.
